| Bio | I have always had an interest in art but my official art career began when I was 12 years old. My father owns a traditional gothic stained glass studio and he was one of the last groups of Americans to be able to participate in the apprenticeship process. I was lucky enough to start my apprenticeship under him first, by working after school at the studio and then working summers and full time. I am also a full time student at IPFW and my major will be fine arts oil painting. My work generally reflects some of my stained glass education in subject matter and style though I have been trying to incorporate some modern element into my art as well. - P. Lupkin |
| Inspiration | This piece, titled "Holy Work" is about my work as a stained glass artist. It was made using the woodcut method of print making which lends itself very easily to a gothic theme. I used some traditional gothic imagery in the rose window and the borders and then showed a set of hands cutting glass. I personally like this piece because of its strong colors and blacks which reminds me of stained glass. - P. Lupkin |
