Simplicity
TitleSimplicity
ArtistScheerer, Daniel
BioI am an IPFW Photography major. I have been attending IPFW for three years. I have been in the photographic industry for twelve years and have interested in photography for the past five years. I chose IPFW to improve my photographic skills and creative mind so that I may capture and photograph weddings better. I want to show the wedding day as a very happy and fun day, while introducing an element of art in the environmental and couple shots. I regularly compete in the Fort Wayne Photographer's Club as another way to enhance my photography and get constructive criticism in my work. I recently won 1st place in Monochrome print of the month and 1st place in the Monochrome category; Patterns/Textures. I am very pleased with the growth I have experienced at IPFW. -- D. Scheerer
InspirationI am always looking for ways to photograph subjects/objects differently. Whether it is lighting an ordinary object with creative lighting or looking at it from a different point of view, I love making the viewer say WOW. While on vacation to Orlando, I stepped outside the airport at Sanford International to look around and enjoy the views and smells of Florida. Outside of the baggage claim, I saw the parking garage staircase shown in this photo. I was intrigued by the architecture and design. The circles with the staircase inside were a fascinating design element. I loved the repetition of the handrail support bars and with careful cropping the way the top circle and bottom circles staircase seem to begin and end in about the same place. Over-exposing and heavily increasing the contrast reduced unnecessary details in the concrete of the subject. The title of the piece, Simplicity, is from the simple shapes shown; squares, circles, and rectangles. -- D. Scheerer
